Fleet Service Mechanic
Midland Farms is seeking an experienced Fleet Service Mechanic to perform journeyman-level diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance across our diesel and electric-powered vehicle fleet.
As a key member of our maintenance operation, you'll ensure our delivery fleet stays safe, road-legal, and running at peak efficiency to support daily dairy distribution across the Capital Region and beyond.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Our Fleet Service Mechanic handles a wide range of diagnostic, repair, and preventative maintenance tasks across our vehicle and equipment fleet.
- 01Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts requiring repair or replacement.
- 02Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades; controlling corrosion.
- 03Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and systems including power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, brake, steering, and hydraulics.
- 04Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems to manufacturer and safety specifications.
- 05Ensure compliance with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
- 06Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance on shop tools.
- 07Provide emergency roadside services, perform minor repairs, and assist in vehicle recovery as needed.
- 08Perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor.
Requirements & Qualifications
We're looking for a reliable, safety-focused mechanic who takes pride in their work and is ready to contribute to a fast-moving dairy distribution operation.
- ✓High School diploma or GED equivalent
- ✓Minimum of 2 years journey-level mechanic experience
- ✓Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
- ✓Must be able to provide your own hand tools in both standard and metric, up to a minimum of ½ inch drive
- ✓Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required
- ✓Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of a wide range of vehicle systems
- ✓Commitment to safety standards and attention to detail on every job
