The Class A CDL Truck Driver will load, unload, and deliver products to customers and our store locations in an accurate and timely manner; efficiently and safely transport products and supplies.

  • Complete daily inventory, orders, delivery invoices, and proof of delivery as required.
  • Transact proper documentation in computerized hand-held device or paper.
  • Collect empty containers, rejected, or unsold merchandise for return.
  • Resolve discrepancies and customer complaints.
  • Verify shipment accuracy and assure saleable condition of product.
  • Safely load, unload, and deliver products at each account.
  • Resolve discrepancies and communicate major issues to Supervisor.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe work area.
  • Learn and adhere to safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Follow all sanitation and quality policies and procedures, and report any deficiencies.
  • Perform Motor Vehicle Inspections on truck to conform to DOT regulations and company policy and assist with routine maintenance on truck. This includes Pre and Post-Trip inspections.
  • Must be courteous toward customers, be able to work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors, maintain neat appearance and follow established policies and directions of supervisor.
  • Maintain vehicle and hours of service logs as required by DOT.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and consistent work hours.
  • Must be able to work safely in a constant state of alertness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must possess and maintain CDL-A with Tanker endorsement. Doubles preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; two years related experience.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Proven work experience as a truck driver with minimum 2-years of tractor-trailer experience.
  • Must be able to pass all medical exams, drug and background checks (including criminal).
  • Must be able to drive, sit, operate/inspect vehicle, stand, walk, kneel, lift and bend required for the entire shift. Able to balance and pull product, climb in and out of truck
  • Must be able to regularly lift 50 pounds above six feet, pull/push 300 pounds with hand-held hook.
  • Must be able to take hand truck loads of 300 pounds of milk product up and down customer steps when required. Position requires frequent lifting, reaching, climbing, pulling, stooping, fine hand manipulation and kneeling.
  • Temperature range includes outdoors, indoors and cargo areas from 34°-40° degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must operate hand-held and truck-mounted computer and refrigeration equipment.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience within food and beverage handling preferred.
  • Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
  • Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.
  • Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
  • Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
  • Must be able to work independently.

Salary Description
$1125 – $ 2000 per week
